New Years Eve Party

We rang in the New Year with a party at church. There were a few of us from Chapel Pike gather for a long, fun filled evening of playing games and eating some unhealthy food. It was an all around great way to end and begin a new year. We played a rousing, 5 hour game of Apples to Apples. Everyone should play this game. It's a good way to learn how people think. You will be surprised at the way the conversation goes when you play this game.

Wesley brought his 360 to the party. We played some Rock Band. It was fun.
You guessed it we rocked in the New Year. I'm thinking we should have gotten it out earlier in the night. One sad thing, we lost one of Wesley's' drumsticks. Hmmm...wonder where it is...maybe we ate it!!

We not only played Apples to Apples but we learned a few new card games. We all enjoyed watching the little kids get to "stay up all night."

Jaye has had this round, tie die looking puzzle sitting around the house for a few years now. It's always fun to sit and chat while working a puzzle. Well this nearly impossible puzzle wasn't finished during the party but was really hit hard. It was so difficult that the ladies gave up around 4 am and slid it onto a piece of cardboard and stashed it in my office. I'm guessing that at the next New Years Eve party they will pull it out and finish it up? When they finish it we'll get some glue on it and I'm sure there will be a picture posted....hold your breath. :)

As you can see the party lasted way past midnight. Here is picture of the little ones still going strong at 2:20. The party was kinda winding down around 3ish, but we had a car with a dead battery in the parking lot. So after a few more rounds of cards and throwing the battery charger on the car we left the church and headed home at 4:30.
That's right 4:30 am....you guessed it January 1st we had some grumpy little kids.

But it was a great New Years Eve and everyone had a great time.
We are thankful for our family, friends and our church family and a fresh beginning.

Its really sad that all the little kids stayed up way past me...I'm definetly not a night owl anymore or ever really.
