Super Bowl 1/2 time show
Super bowl half time show revealed last night during the Bears game.... I'm not sure if Hanna Montana and the Jonas Brothers are the best choice.
A Win! YES
Bears 24-20 over the Eagles!
The family and I enjoyed watching a good game last night. We'll some of us stuck it out the entire game to see a HUGE goal-line stoppage that snapped a "lose in the forth quarter" streak that Bears have been on. I love to win and hate to lose. So, good times last night in Chicago. Way to go Bears!

Good Deals!!
I'm gonna share with you a little addiction I have...Walgreens & CVS shopping!! It all started from reading my friend, Jessica's, blog...which linked to this blog...then this blog...then I got hooked on this blog...and the list could keep going!! These ladies really put a lot of time & effort into searching for the coupons and setting up the deals. I just take advantage of their hard work...and sometimes add my own twist to them. I'm not totally fanatic about this. I usually just get the free (rebate) items and then whatever I can get for really cheap.

Fabulous Friday
I haven't had my day off in a couple of weeks so today I didn't work. It was grand. Joseph and I hung out most all day. Let me share with you some of our fun. We started off with a trip to the park. We hung out on Marion's most "awesomest" playground. If you haven't been to Matter Park you should go. They have a really, really nice playground. They had to have spent over a hundred grand on the thing....it's huge!. We had a blast there. Then we stopped by to visit Mommy at work, took her a soda and headed home to mow. On the way home Joseph said he wanted to wear his safety glasses while we mowed, so he did. I hope you notice that we are dressed alike, he picked out his clothes.
After mowing we called Granny to wish her a Happy Birthday. He misses his Granny. It was good for him to talk to her today.
We ended the day doing dishes. I might add, it goes much quicker when I do them alone. But what fun would that be?

Lefties Rule!
Okay, so the blog was a little deceiving. It is actually my right hand that is broken. The xray was flipped over on the scanner! I realize it isn't so hard using my left hand. I can pretty much accomplish most tasks by using my first two fingers on my right hand in the "scissor" position. The dr decided not to put a cast on to make life a little easier for me. I can temporarily unwrap my hand for showers but NOT to do dishes!! The kids were disappointed that I didn't come home with a cast. They even hoped the wrapping wouldn't work and that when I went back in two weeks they'd have to put a cast on it anyway!!
For those who were wondering, I hit my hand on our bed railing. I'm afraid it isn't an exciting story and Brian was not involved...although, we've made up some fun stories to the contrary!! ~Jaye

Anyone Want a Kitten??
Joseph Got Mail!
He was pretty excited to get this book in the mail yesterday. Although the book is "The Little Engine the Could", he calls it his "Thomas" book. We signed up for the Imagination Library a couple months back. It's for kids 5 and under and you get a free book every month! Pretty cool...you should check it out!

Good Sermon?
So how do you tell if you've preached a good sermon?
I like to watch the people as I'm preaching. Sometimes you can tell if you have them with you. Other times you can tell if their minds are someplace else. There is always a couple of people that will say "I wasn't asleep", but you can tell by the head jerks that they were.
Is it the head nods, the "amens" or the "That was a good sermon Pastor, I enjoyed that". Whenever I preach I like to think I inspire people to do something....you know a change-something like, start praying or looking for ways to reach out to people.....typical things like that. I often wonder if I do that, do I inspire change?
This week I have found another way in which to gauge if I'm connecting with my church audience. You see I preach the last Sunday of each month....this past Sunday was mine. Was it a good sermon?
Here is my new way to tell....by the....
Piles of finger nail clippings left behind in the sanctuary.
This week as I was getting ready for our Back to School Bash, I moved the chairs in the Sanctuary.
As I moved the chairs, in three different rows I found.....three different piles of clippings. So not only were the people bored in the middle, there was the person on the aisle and another one on back.
So I would have to say I need to step it up a notch to keep more people engaged so they aren't bored....which means they won't want to spend time clipping their nails.
Sermon Titles I'd like to Preach:
Nails in HIS Hands....Nails in the Carpet.
Leave it all behind.
The Altar...Giving my All to God, not just my scraps!
Can you think of some good ones? Please share them with me.
I wonder if it would be ok to clip my nails in their living rooms and leave behind a pile of my own?

The Count if OVER!!
Potty training was easier than I thought it would be and it's official...no more diapers!! Our final count was 5217 diapers! Without going into all the details of how the process went, I will share some funnies Joseph came up with along the way! All Joseph heard from me for those first few days was, "Do you have to go potty?" Finally, disgusted with answering me he said, "Why you aways say dat?!?!" Also, he loves his superhero underwear but doesn't understand why the picture is on his butt. He tried wearing them backwards so that HE could see the picture...that didn't last too long.
So I guess it's a bittersweet ending to another milestone in his little life. ~Jaye
